Sonam Kapoor has pretty much made up her mind about how she would be progressing in her career ahead.
She is only five films old in the industry and has two more films expected to arrive before end of year. However Sonam Kapoor has pretty much made up her mind about how she would be progressing in her career ahead. One such decision is around being ultra selective in the special song and dance numbers, more popularly known as item numbers.
"I may do such a number but then it would have to be for my own film," smiles Sonam who is yet to have a dance number to her credit.
"If at all I have to actually get into an item song routine, it would depend a lot on who is asking me to do that," she says after a pause, "Perhaps I would do that as a favour for a friend because he may need my help. Otherwise I am okay with the way I am doing for myself currently."
This isn't exactly a similar sentiment shared by her counterpart and closest competitor Deepika Padukone. She would soon be seen in Dum Maaro Dum while gyrating to the title song. A couple of years back she had also Love Mera Hit Hit (Billu) for Shahrukh Khan. And then of course there is Katrina who has a Sheila Ki Jawaani to her credit which has turned out to be the mother of all item numbers.
Doesn't Sonam ever feel that 'Oh my God, if only I too could get a good chartbuster number like this for myself'?
"No not really, after all I have my own Masakali to my credit, right", giggles Sonam, "That was my item song and I guess I did pretty well in there, isn't it?"
